How to Point Namecheap DNS to Hostgator

by Editor

Namecheap To HostgatorWhile migrating from Blogger to WordPress, iBlognet was previously hosted on blogger.com using custom domain name from namecheap. So if you access blogspot URL, you would be redirected to a custom domain. So before migrating from Blogger to Hostgator you would have to point your Namecheap DNS to Hostgator. You may transfer your domain from namecheap to hostgator, but it would take some time and Hostgator charges $15 for domain/year. Unlike Namecheap charges $9.28 per year. So if you are too looking to migrate your blog from blogger to WordPress, follow the steps below first to transfer namecheap DNS to Hostgator webhost.

First you need to buy a hosting package from Hostgator and note down the nameserver address. eg.: nsXXXX.hostgator.com, nsXXXX.hostgator.com [Note: XXXX is a random number.] You can find out the nameserver address in your Hostgator CPanel.

HostGator.com Control Panel

Now login to your namecheap account, select the domain you want to edit.

Namecheap Domain List

Go to Domain Name Server setup and select Specify custom DNS. Enter your hostgator DNS address and Save.

That’s it! Your domain name information will be updated within couple of hours and then you can access your domain name.
